Select the “Geography” of the Custom Map, which will be the X and Y Coordinate System in the Layer Pane on the right. Now that the data mapping is complete, boot Power Map and select New Scene > New Custom Map.

In our case, we want to show the total number of passengers on the cities, so we need the pixel position of each city.

Most computers already have one, but you will need a PDF viewer/reader such as Adobe Reader to view the results. If you choose a background feature, it will overlay on the background image you select. A blank background uses less ink if you're printing, but doesn't look as much like a treasure map. Tap or click the image to change the background or background feature.

The path won't show on the website, only on the PDF. Use the drop down in any section to have the path stop in that section on the final PDF. The path is a dotted line you might image on a treasure map. On the PDF, text will be displayed under an image if an image is chosen, or will be vertically centered in the middle of the section if an image isn't chosen. You may optionally add text to any map section or create a path to traverse your map. There's four columns and four rows of sections. It will eventually cycle through to a blank image. Tap or click each the text in each section to change the image on that portion of the map.
